John Elton is speaking out more about his tumultuous connection with his late mother, Sheila Farebrother. John went on to add that he and Farebrother reunited before she died, despite the fact that their relationship had not changed dramatically. "The only difference was that I didn't lose my cool," John explained.
Sheila Farebrother was a British singer who had a successful career in the 1960s. She married three times and had six children; four with her first husband and later with her second husband. Her third marriage was to John's father; Bernie Taupin. The couple divorced in 1975 but remained close friends until Farebrother's death in 2003 at the age of 76.
During their time together, Farebrother and John Elton's family lived next door to one another in London. As young boys, they would play together all the time while their parents were working. When Farebrother had to move away from London to pursue her singing career, the Eltons were left without their friend. However, thanks to the help of their other parent, Bernie Taupin, they were able to adjust to the change and grow closer as adults.

She spent most of her time in Russia with only her daughter for company.
Sheila came from a family of musicians, and she wanted nothing more than to see her son follow in the footsteps of his father, Johnathan Elton. However, Jonathan died when Elton was just 12 years old, so he had no choice but to get an education and career. Even though they lived in poverty, Elton managed to finish school and eventually went on to become one of the most successful music artists in history.
Elton John has said that he doesn't like to think about his childhood because it makes him too sad, however, he did mention that his mother was not a warm and cuddly woman who would always be there to support him.
He also mentioned that she wasn't very attractive and that she got pregnant at a young age. Despite all of this, Elton still looked up to her and wanted to make her happy. He added that she was not easy to live with because she was extremely demanding and wouldn't let anyone help her.
Elton stated he was "very heartbroken" and "in shock" after his mother died on December 4, 2017 at the age of 92. "So sad to report that my mum died away this morning," he said on Facebook, beside a photo of the two of them. "I only saw her last Monday, and I'm stunned. She was so strong and independent until very recently when she started to suffer from dementia. But even then, she wouldn't let it get in the way of anything." His father also passed away in 2016 at the age of 91.
Elton and his wife Dixie Carter had been married since 1975 and have three children together. They were due to marry again after their divorce in 1980, but they ended up calling it off.
Elton has had many successes throughout his career, including 27 number one singles, 5 Grammy Awards, and over 100 million records sold worldwide. He's also won several awards for his advocacy work for HIV/AIDS awareness.
After his mother's death, he canceled all his remaining concerts and announced a temporary break from music.
