For years, Law & Order: SVU has teased a relationship between Amanda Rollins and Sonny Carisi. However, the program ultimately brought the two together with a passionate kiss in the season 22 finale. The couple has been rumored to be dating since at least 2009 when they were both guests on The Howard Stern Show.
They have both also appeared in other television programs including Gossip Girl as themselves. In addition, Carisi has been spotted out with several other women including a wife and daughter of friends.
Amanda Rollins was born on January 4th, 1975 in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up in West Orange, New Jersey and attended Seton Hall University where she studied journalism. It was during her time at school that she began appearing on television shows such as The Drew Carey Show and Becker. After graduating, she went on to work on various other programs including Boston Public and Switched at Birth before being cast in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Rollins has spoken about her love for comedy and theater while growing up. In addition, she says that she tries to stay busy so that she doesn't think too much about her career. She has also mentioned that she likes to go out dancing after filming an episode of SVU.
Are Rollins and Carisi on Law & Order: SVU Getting Married in 2021? Spoilers for the NBC debut of Law & Order: SVU in 2021, titled "Sightless in a Savage Land," follow. Fortunately, Phoebe agreed, and we now have a happy pair on Law & Order: SVU. During an interview with E! News, star Chris Meloni confirmed that Rollins and Carisi are indeed getting married on the show.
Law & Order: SVU has been known to include some serious romantic comedy moments between its characters, so it's no surprise that they would do the same with two of their most important detectives. After all, they do work together every day, so it makes sense that they would develop something more than just friendship over time.
In addition to sharing a bed together during crime scenes (which we know from past episodes does not mean that they are having sex), Rollins and Carisi also share a love of music and food. They even go so far as to call themselves "the singing cops." So it seems like they fit together perfectly on paper, and yet, they still manage to find ways to challenge each other's personalities throughout the years.
Rollins is very much a by-the-book detective, while Carisi is often seen breaking the rules in order to solve crimes faster.
Carisi, who hails from a large family, helps Rollins with the infant on occasion. When it was revealed late last season that Rollins (Kelli Giddish) and Amaro (Danny Pino) were sleeping together, fans were both astonished and pleased. However, when the story broke in the media that Carisi was also involved with Amaro, fans began to dislike him.
However, this relationship only lasted until Amaro died. After his death, Carisi moved back in with his family in Virginia and stopped seeing Rollins. Although they remain friends, there is no indication that they will get back together.
