This song is a follow-up to Eminem's blockbuster tune "Love The Way You Lie," however this time the tale is delivered from the female perspective of a relationship. "When I originally heard the concept of filming a part two, I was absolutely utterly against it," Rihanna told MTV News. "I felt like there wasn't enough room for another version of 'Love The Way You Lie,' and also that fans wouldn't accept it."
But after reading the script, which she called "incredible", she changed her mind. "It's an opportunity for me to show another side of myself as an actress, and also to help fans understand women better. There are so many lies we tell each other every day, especially in relationships - about wanting space or needing reassurance. It's important for people to know that these are just tricks we use to avoid saying what we really feel."
Rihanna has been working on the film with director David Fincher who also did an amazing job with the first part. According to the singer, they have already shot some scenes for the second part and she hopes to finish shooting by the end of this year.
She added: "It's going to be incredible. I can't wait for everyone to see it."
There you have it, love is not always blind but sometimes it wants to be!
Rihanna followed up with "Love The Way You Lie (Part II)." This song has Rihanna on lead vocals and Eminem as a featured guest, and it contains the same passionate and emotional lyrics as the previous one. In addition to this being a single, it is also part of a trilogy that includes "We can work it out" and "Don't forget about me."
Eminem released his eighth studio album titled Revival in November 2018. It was supported by two singles: "Just Keep Livin'", which features Rihanna, and "Smack Down".
A sequel to Love the Way You Lie? , titled Love The Way You Lie (Part II), was released on February 25, 2019. The track features Eminem alongside Rihanna again, this time singing different parts. The song was released as a single from the soundtrack to the film Black Panther (2018).
Another sequel to Love the Way You Lie, titled Don't Forget About Me, was released on May 24, 2019. The track features Eminem alongside Christina Aguilera for its main portion and Lil Wayne for the outro. The song was released as a single from the film Men in Black 4 (2019).
Eminem has said that he does not want to make any more songs like "Love the Way You Lie".
Eminem's "Love the Way You Lie," starring Rihanna, brings emotional honesty front and center in both the visual and the song. Given Rihanna and Em's prominent and toxic relationships, many fans assume the artists took inspiration for the duet from personal experience. But according to a 2013 interview with Rolling Stone, Eminem came up with the concept first and then looked for a partner who could bring something new to the table.
As it turns out, he didn't look far enough. When asked about how she felt about covering such an explicit song, Rihanna replied, "I love it. I think it's awesome."
Later that year, when asked what she thought of Eminem, Rihanna again said that she loved it when he covers other people's songs. She then went on to say that she doesn't mind if people want to cover her songs too, as long as they don't sound like Rihanna but rather like themselves.
This statement reveals two important things about Rihanna: one, that she is not only open to covering other people's songs but also to writing her own material; and two, that she does not see herself as the sole owner of any musical genre. Rather, she wants her music to sound like itself—unique—and yet still be recognized as Rihanna music. This idea is known as "Rihanna-ism."
The hazardous cycle of being stuck within an abusive, love-hate relationship is described in Eminem's hip hop hit "Love the Way You Lie." This song was inspired by producer Alexa da Kid's violent romantic connection with the music industry. He felt emotionally and physically abused by most of the people he loved, including his girlfriend at the time, Lisa Jackson.
Eminem was able to find a way out of this situation through writing about it. Love-hate relationships are common among abusers because they know that if their partner leaves, they will continue to abuse them until they feel remorse and try to make things right.
Abusers use our emotions against us by making us believe that if we don't love them back, they will be hurt or killed. This causes us to stay in these relationships even though they aren't healthy.
The only way out is to learn how to stand on our own two feet and stop relying on others for support. Abusers like controlling people who are weak because then they can keep them under their control.
Loving someone who abuses you is not real love. It is merely an act used to manipulate others into staying with them. Only true love is constant regardless of what is happening between two people.
